I have great concern for all disappearing wildlife on our planet. I have a special love for large, African animals, especially elephants. Part of our experience of these great beasts is that they are both big and strong. By showing them in relation to the sky their vulnerability becomes obvious. The setting sun in each painting is a metaphor for extinction.
